Proforma

My work is influenced by 18th and 19th century maritime exploration, which I find exceedingly inspiring. Much of my work is associated with the deceitfulness and trauma of the sea, most notably in the form of shipwrecks.
I see myself as a traditional photographer, much of my work is to do with re-documenting the past, which is why I shoot with film, rather than digital.

The Vanity Show

The Vanity Show

'I am the resurrection and the life'

The piece for the Vanity Show commemorates Horatio Nelson, the most heroic naval commander in British history. In particular, reflecting on his final resting place – the crypt of St. Paul's Cathedral, London.
The title refers to the first anthem played at Nelsons funeral service in 1806.
