My work is influenced by 18th and 19th century maritime exploration, which I find exceedingly inspiring. Much of my work is associated with the deceitfulness and trauma of the sea, most notably in the form of shipwrecks. I see myself as a traditional photographer, much of my work is to do with re-documenting the past, which is why I shoot with film, rather than digital.
